Slow Cooker Split Pea Soup
Ingredients
- 1 (16-oz.) pkg. dried green split peas, sorted and rinsed
- 1 bone from Carando® Spiral Sliced Ham - Bone-In - Hickory Smoked, with leftover meat
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped carrots
- 1 cup sliced celery
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Preparation
- Combine all ingredients in 4- or 5-quart slow cooker. Add water to fill 1-inch from top.
- Cover and cook on LOW setting for 10 to 12 hours (HIGH: 5 to 6 hours).
- Remove ham bone; cut off any remaining meat. Dice meat and return to soup.
