Broccoli and Ham Chowder
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups chopped broccoli, fresh or frozen
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons margarine
- 3 cups 2% milk, divided
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 cup (4 oz.) shredded American cheese
- 1/2 lb. Carando® Spiral Sliced Ham - Bone-In - Hickory Smoked, chopped
Preparation
- Combine broccoli, celery, onion, margarine and 1/2 cup milk in large pot. Heat, covered, 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Blend flour into 1 cup milk; add to vegetables along with remaining 1 1/2 cups milk, parsley, basil and chili powder.
- Stir in cheese and ham. Heat until cheese is melted.
Serves 4
